Deep roots in Henrico

Eddie Whitlock is a proud life-long resident of Henrico County. Eddie attended Benedictine High School before earning his undergraduate and law degrees at the University of Richmond. He currently serves the County as one of two Tuckahoe magisterial district representatives on the Henrico County Economic Development Authority Board of Directors. Eddie and his wife Mary-Alice have three grown children who all attended local schools. They worship at St. Mary Catholic Church.

Service to our nation

Eddie served as a member of the Virginia Army National Guard from 1980 until 1992, achieving the rank of Captain. During his time in the Guard, Eddie served as a Combat Engineer Headquarters Company Commander for three years. Eddie also served as a Staff Judge Advocate for four years helping Virginia troops mobilize for Operation Desert Storm.

Service to the Republican Party

Eddie understands what it means to listen to the Republican grassroots because he has been in the trenches for years. He recently finished serving as the Chairman of the Henrico County Republican Committee where he successfully united every wing of the party for the first time in years. He has been active in local government and party activities since the 1980s.

Service to our schools

Eddie has been a tireless leader for local schools. He is a past president of Benedictine High School PTO, a past Chair of the Diocese of Richmond’s Diocesan School Advisory Board and a past Chair of the St. Mary’s Catholic School Board and St. Mary’s Endowment Fund.

Service to the church

Eddie is an active leader in the Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization. He is a state director, and Vice President for home loans, for the Virginia Knights of Columbus charity, KOVAR, which serves Virginians with intellectual disabilities. Eddie is a Past Grand Knight and a Past Faithful Navigator. As a Former District Deputy he provided leadership and guidance to four KofC councils in the Richmond area. Eddie is also active in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, serving in various ministries and chaired the Building Committee, leading to the construction of a new middle school wing, an Early Childhood Development Center, new office and meeting space, a new daily mass chapel and a new church building.

Service to local youth

As a father of three, Eddie has always been involved with youth activities. He has coached fifty soccer and baseball teams in the region. He has also served as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout treasurer.

Service to his profession

Eddie is a partner in the law firm of Lafayette, Ayers and Whitlock where he focuses on creditors rights, business and real estate law. Eddie is a past president of the Henrico Bar Association and the Virginia Creditors Bar Association. He is also the Richmond Chair of the Virginia State Bar lawyer fee dispute resolution program and is a past chair of a State Bar disciplinary committee. In recognition of his legal expertise and his service to the profession, he received the Virginia Leaders in the Law Award from Virginia Lawyers Weekly.
